I covertly snuck a cherry liquor chocolate and secretly munched on it. As my instant punishment I felt a filling collapse in my mouth resulting in a huge whole. Serves me right.
[My]Dentist, for me, has changed from NHS to Private so now, without having any choice, I have to pay a much high rate for treatment. Repair today, sure I didn't have to wait a long time to get an appointment, was £99 just to arrange the appointment and £110 for the cheapest filling. Using more upmarket materials etc would have doubled that price. So, my cost was £209 but could have been over £300.
By contrast, my son had his chipped front tooth repaired this afternoon at the same dental practice, but with an NHS dentist, for £19. He had paid a small amount earlier for cleaning, but the difference in total cost was extreme. I also pay £9 a month to be a private patient. This gives me one free checkup a year.
So, not only have I paid NI for over 35 years but I'm still paying for what should be "free" dental. We're is the "insurance" element of National Insurance?
Don't get me started on who gets free everything in this country. It's certainly not me and many like me who have tributed to the economy throughout our working lives!!!
Twithay?
