Some years ago when you wanted to avoid work or some task it was common practice to feign back pain. Medically it was difficult to dispute and successful treatment was difficult to be assured. Employers often accepted the self diagnoses without question or medical referral.

Now the fall back excuse is to claim severe mental health issues. Heard that recently?

How about realising that actions have consequences and a part of growing up is to be aware and made responsible for them.
