Even Earlier Exit-Ken Bruce

Updated: Mar 3

Ken Bruce's last BBC2 radio show has been brought forward even further to today, Friday 3rd March. It's a shame he's leaving and even worse that I believe it was the BBC that has hastened his exit. His presenting skills and style will be a great loss.

For BBC2 to succeed for me, it's not so much the type of music choice but it's about the pleasant delivery, clever humour and interesting content. It's also, for me, not a platform for listening to inane contributions from "stars", parents or their kids playing the trombone.

I don't think Vernon Kay fits my desired profile for Ken's replacement and that is supported by the appointments of Rylan Clark, Rob Beckett, Sara Cox and Zoe Ball.

I'll give Vernon a short trial period but I think my switch away from BBC2 could be Monday 6th March.
