Fake HMRC Phone Call

Just received a call from 01420 383112 which is based in Alton UK.

The recorded voice of a female with an American twang informed me that I am being prosecuted by the HMRC for fraud and I should press 1 to talk to an agent. Ridiculous!! I terminated the call and added the number to my blocked list of numbers.

I inserted the number into the who-called.co.uk website and found initially a Neutral rating. However, after my report, and that of another person a minute earlier, the rating changed to Negative. Same M.O. as my caller.

So beware.
