The England rugby team to play Ireland tomorrow doesn't appear to me to be the best one available. We should lose but I'm hoping for a miracle or two.
Furbank was evident early against Scotland by scoring a try. His last real contribution to the game. Not commanding the air or making the runs back into the opposition for which he was picked, I guess. Steward is a far better player.
Slade, Exeter's saviour at times this season so I like him, paired with Lawrence produced so many dropped balls and missed passes that their selection needs rethinking.
Ford was ok and even though courageous, he's always an open door for opposition attackers. Marcus Smith is the same but adds a bit more flair than just the kicking game. Haven't seen enough of Fin Smith to judge him but is he worth a try?
Where are all the good Props? Surely Stuart is not the best understudy? Look around Steve.
Is that the end of the international careers of Ethan Roots and Freddie Steward? I hope not. Will they, and a few others, get their chance to face France or should they switch to cricket, because we have international vacancies there too?
Twithay?
