Jet Supply

If UK and Europe provide jets to the Ukraine will this not give Putin an excuse to escalate the war there and even extend it beyond the Ukraine?

I watched the link to Ben Hodges which you posted and in which he questions Russia's ability to win the war in Ukraine.

He appears to have a good grasp of the conflict, Russia's shortcomings and the strategy the Ukrainians should take. However, they need support to continue their resistance and achieve success in repelling the insurgents.

Thanks for the indepth analysis of the situation and possible reactions to the supply of jets to the Ukraine.

I assume that the Ukrainian Air Force could fly the jets and if not then they would be able to after training.

How do you see the conflict progressing and do you have a predicted outcome?

Cheers

I'm no expert, but I do devote a lot of time to listening to what is happening. There are a wealth of content creators on YouTube - some more 'realistic' than others. There is propaganda from both sides so you have to try your best to filter-out the nonsense.

Generally speaking, an advancing army will lose three times as many troops as those 'dug-in' defending. In Bakhmut however, reliable sources suggest that 7 Russian combatants (principally the Wagner mercinaries - often Russian prisoners promised a pardon if they survive 6 months) have perished for every Ukrainian. This rate of loss has prompted speculation that a second round of conscriptions is due. Although conscripts are poorly trained, ill equipped, suffer …

RE 'Jet Supp;ly'.

"...will this not give Putin an excuse to escalate the war there and even extend it beyond the Ukraine?"

Putin and his coterie have made countless threats if 'The West' does this, that or the other, I/we will escalate. Such 'empty' threats have been issued regularly and included (off the top of my head), responses to:

The supply of Excalibur 'smart munitions and M777 howitzers;

Anti-anti air craft/missile 'HARM' rockets to knock-out Russian air-defence systems;

MANPADS (Javalins);

Bradly fighting units / APCs

Patriot systems;

Finland and Sweden's application for NATO membership,

and most recently, heavy armour - especially British Challenger 2s & Leopard 2s from any number of Western governments.

What sort of 'escalation' are we talking…
